hi boys and girls Mrs marinelli's here today to help you with ordering numbers we've been ordering numbers in class from least to greatest and greatest to least so let's take these five numbers boys and girls and order them today from least two greatest the first we can do if we can look at how many digits are in each number and I do see that most of my numbers have four digits but I do have what number here that has only three digits so right away I know that that number only goes up to the hundreds place the other numbers have four digits to go up to the thousand place so 860 it's going to be my smallest number so right away can put that in the beginning because that is the least the rest of our numbers have four digits and when a number has four digits that goes up to the thousands place where we need to begin to compare or numbers we need to look at the thousands place so I noticed and I look I have a 6 in this number in the thousands place a 6 in the thousands place yeah we know we have one number with a 7 in the thousands place and 7 is larger than 6 so right there we know that's going to be our greatest number and now we are left with the last three numbers so we've already compared the thousands place we know they will have success we have to move to the hundred so I have zero I have a in the hundreds place here here 0 this is 0 100 so it's less than the other two because they both have a 7 they both have seven this is no Hunter all right now we dance the last two numbers and we need steak we know that they both have a 6 in the thousands place is 7 in the hundreds place now we need watching the tens place this number has a 7 in the tens place and this number has a zero in the tens place we know that 0 is less than 7 so this number 6 717 come next and then so let's check 867 make sense in on his three digits is the least 6070 this number has no hundred 6707 listen 710 6770 this is more because at 7:10 and then of course the greatest is 7007 because we have a 7 in the thousands place boys and girls I hope this helps you to compare look at numbers in order them least to greatest
