In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Colin Powell's Student Council highlighted a Hispanic member of our community. Thank you Officer Cartas for all you do and being a positive role model!!

Look what is happening at Colin Powell in Ms. Miranda's First Grade Class! Students read stories about our community and the people that help to keep us safe.

Students in Ms. Miranda's first grade class at Colin Powell celebrate their Hispanic Heritage by creating a collage of interesting facts about their family's heritage. They presented their collage to their classmates.

Ms. Rodriguez's 2nd Grade Class at Colin Powell celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month by creating images of themselves dressed with typical clothing from their countries. Children then presented to the class.

Wednesday, October 6th is Picture Day. All children are asked to come to school dressed up. Please see attached flyer for further information.

The Week of Respect is celebrated every year in NJ on the first week of October. This year the dates celebrated will be: October 4-8 2021.

Ms. Silva's Fourth Grade Class from Colin Powell were learning about dialogue. To help her students learn how to use quotation marks and commas correctly, she gave them sentences and elbow pasta to demonstrate their knowledge.

Mrs. Teresita Diaz, Principal of Colin Powell, was named Educator of the Year by the Hispanic State Parade of New Jersey!
